So I recently started Teen Wolf and I just finished season 1.  Interestingly enough, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.  It’s even…*gasp*…a little bit good.  I mean, I’ll be honest, I find the whole high school relationship annoying because, well, it’s a high school relationship and the unnecessary drama is always present.  At least its accurate.  Actually, the show is pretty accurate about high school.  I totally forgot how strict it was and I’ve only graduated 3 years ago….college is so much freedom in comparison.

I watched the first episode months ago and didn’t continue because it was so high school-ish.  I’ve never been one for school dramas because they’re so…well….dramatic!  Really.  My high school career was positively boring.  But I had a friend who watched it and raved about it and since tumblr seems to like it as well, I thought I’d give it another go.  I’m glad I did.

The story itself about werewolves and hunting is interesting.  The high school stuff…slightly miscellaneous, but I understand its purpose.  They are 16 after all and having them in school actually increases the tension because they are so restricted in their movements.   Other than that, I have a few comments that seem like complaints, but really aren’t.

First off, the SHIRTLESSNESS.  Really now.  Not that I’m complaining about it, but is it really necessary to have someone shirtless in EVERY episode?  Literally.  Every.  Episode….and sometimes twice or three times in an episode.  I appreciate abs as much as the next girl, but this is a really rather gratuitous.

(Oh…uhhh…what was I saying?)

Second, where is the Sterek?  I have some of the biggest slash goggles in existence and yet, I’m not really feeling it?  Is it hidden in season 2?  Is that why?  I mean I saw hints of it in an episode, but otherwise, they barely interact.  And I want to ship it, but I just….can’t….yet.  We’ll see.  Maybe season 2 will change that.

Third, Danny is adorable and so not gay for a gay.  I like that they did that instead of making him a stereotype.  You can be manly and gay just like you can be feminine and a lesbian.

Fourth, Stiles.  I love this kid (okay, he’s a year old than me so I shouldn’t call him a kid, but still!)  He is absolutely my spirit animal.  The amount of sarcasm stuffed into every sentence he says makes me want to simultaneously kick him and hug him.  I just really like sarcastic people, okay?  Actually, it’s a criteria for my friendship.  Also, he’s hotter with hair, but with hair he looks like he belongs in One Direction.  Not that that’s bad, but I’m just saying.

Fifth, Allison’s aunt is freaking CRAZY.  She has so many issues I don’t even know how to react.  Like when she licked Derek?  Excuse me?!  You have soooooo many issues a lifetime of therapy won’t even put a dent in it.

That’s really all I have to say.  I’ll probably finish season 2 in a few days so we’ll just have to see how I feel after that.
